Cool Poster

Oh, there was a really nifty poster at my friends behind the cereal boxes. Some of you might really enjoy what it says...I did.

Funny Cereal

Check out these silly cereals my friend had in Berkeley...and yes, they really had cereal inside the boxes.

Fall Tree

Here is one such tree out behind where I live. The trees look like colorful fireworks exploding in peoples yards. Nor Cal has some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen as well.

Fall and Winter

Thought:
I'm so happy Fall is here. I feel like I have not experienced adequate season changes for years. What a pleasure it is to see the leaves change colors and be in need of hot tea, a warm jacket, and snuggles. The fact that it gets dark much earlier now though is kind of a bummer, but I will adjust. Embrace the darkness. Ha ha.

Snow

Thought:
I am so excited to see some significant snow this year. I love how it blankets sleeping nature in magical-like crystals. It's pretty unreal if you think about each individual flake for too long.  And how when you touch them, they suddenly change and drop away...sadly, that sounds like a few people I know...perhaps they all meet up in the North Pole on the island of Misfit Toys. I know that island well. But I always return. Many do not.

Where have the good movies gone?

Movies:
There seems to be a very sad lack in the world right now for good movies. I did like "Wall-E" and "Step Brothers", from several months ago, but I am a bit of  a sucker for Pixar or most Will Farrell movies.
So, I feel very dependant on TCM right now, I gatta get all old school to get that blown-away-and-caught-up-in-and-gloriously-lost-in-a-good-way feeling. Well, to be fair, last month was Carole Lombard month on TCM, as this incomparable beauty would have been one hundred years old, had she lived that long and not have died tragically in a plane crash while married to the ever charming Clark Gable. But even now, as I write, TCM is playing a wonderful Greta Garbo movie, how I love her too! "I want to be alone." That accent, those eyes and eyebrows, she just about sends you right over the moon!
I did see "Zach And Miri" last week though. It was funny, but I have been a fan of the Judd Apatow crew since "Freaks and Geeks". This is actually directed by Kevin Smith and there is a most enjoyable small character played by Jay of The Silent Bob and Jay fame, and Jay is sporting short hair and is pretty awesome. The movie is actually quite gross at times and charming at others and the love story theme did seem a bit out of place, but I guess it works in the end (pun sorta intended). I also enjoyed seeing Traci Lords, who looks just as amazing as she ever did in "Cry Baby" or anything else. It was funny and I laughed several times, I recommend it if you also enjoyed "40 Year Old Virgin" and/or "Knocked Up" or find yourself, like me, to be a fan of anything with Seth Rogen.

More on Sacramento

Thought:
Oh don't get me wrong. Sac is fun and there are fun people. But I have never had a hard time making friends or finding fun in new cities. It just seems that so many of the people I meet here do not really want to be here, they got stuck. Many are full of what resembles a lot of hot air, and no action. Ideas and no motivation. Lonely yet unable to really connect.

Sac is Vampiric

Thought:
Never made it to Mates of State. Sacramento is a haze, a big blur. It's fun, but it kind of sucks your energy out when you're not looking. And people are very weird. Very. Weird. Hard to trust. Worse that LA. Wow. Did I just say that?
